the royal hotel clacton

July 5, 2010

So we all know the renovations have stopped, no further funds available. The Royal Hotel rebuild did not complete.

http://www.clactonandfrintongazette.co.uk/news/8255236.Royal_Hotel_to_be_auctioned_for_up_to___1million/?ref=rss

The auction price of ‘under a million’ seems ‘under estimate’ doesn’t it? The Royal Hotel Clacton is THE prime location, the best, the town revolves around it. How can it only sell for 1 million, even if it is unfinished? For sure, if I had a spare million I’d buy it. Somebody has to finish the Royal Hotel in Clacton and we may know who soon!

Copy of the news report:

CLACTON’S famous Royal Hotel is to be auctioned off for a guide price of between £800,000 and £1million.

The Victorian landmark, in Marine Parade East, is under refurbishment and was due to open un August last year, but works were delayed at the site.

London-based Allsop said it will now be auctioning the hotel on July 13.

The hotel was featured last year on Channel 4’s Hotel Rescue, which showed businessman Michael Chittenden’s plans to restore the rundown hotel to its former glory.

Mr Chittenden was unavailable for comment, but the hotel’s website said the “restoration project is currently on hold”.

Allsop auctioneers said the hotel, which was built in 1872, is for sale along with its car park in Colne Road.

The hotel has permission for part demolition and refurbishment to form an extended 25-bed hotel with 47 residential apartments, as well as up to seven shops, a bar and restaurant.

The auctioneer’s website said: “We understand the building has been unoccupied since approximately 1995 and has subsequently fallen into disrepair.”

Pierre Oxley, chairman of Clacton’s Chamber of Trade and Tourism, said: “I hope someone takes it on and finishes off the refurbishment as soon as possible.

“A lot of money has already been spent on bringing the hotel back up to standard.

“The Royal Hotel is a landmark for Clacton and is a focal point for the seafront area.

“It will be fantastic to get it up and running quickly, especially as the Pavillion site across the road is now under refurbishment.”

The auction will take place at the Cumberland Hotel, Great Cumberland Place, London, on July 13.

innovations

June 16, 2010

If you invent something you naturally think of registering it, so that you can protect your idea from being stolen. Safely & securely applying for patent is very expensive, especially worldwide patent, but recently I have discovered the bigger problem with the way patents work.

A great friend of mine invented a new innovation around 1 year ago. He spent a large amount on specialist legal advice because its such a huge idea, and its been really difficult to progress and develop. Actually, I feel really privileged to be involved and I have gained loads from this experience.

Anyway, 20th April the Patent was accepted and granted as ‘Patent Pending’ status. This means people are now able to get access to view these new ideas, and it also allows you to safely tell people because you have original rights. At this point I cant tell you all though because its not the right time to publically release.

Now this is the problem…. On the 20th May, 1 month after a seriously major patent, a USA company using a chinese supplier began advertising a copy product It says ‘pre-order’ and wont be available until the 25th June, but for sure its a copy of the original device! Ferk thats fast turnaround! Even some of the wording used is a copy of the legal descriptive wording from the patent….. Main problem though is that its a rushed bodge-job, seriously under-developed and a bad interpretation of what is written on paper. Shapes have been altered so it looks different, but the patent covers ‘the idea’ so its irrelevant what it looks like.
They will still sell loads though, but because they are very dumb they dont realise what the big picture is …yet. Our local product is not ready for retail sales and the problem could be that this crappy un-developed version will make people think its rubbish even before they try the original! Although I guess time will fix that.

Big thing to learn is that when you register to protect innovations, be aware that people wait on the doorsteps of patent offices to steal the idea and cash in very quick. You have to register a patent to be protected by law, but it really means you give headstart to rogue dealers. Btw, lawsuits arent an option early on as they often end up £100,000+ investment, which is better spent on advertising & selling your own product.

The Royal Hotel Clacton Essex

June 5, 2010

The Royal Hotel Clacton-on-sea has not been completed. Refurbishment has stopped, no more skips and no more building work ongoing. The websites included and currently unused are: Royalhotelclacton co uk and com and theroyalhotelclacton co uk and com websites. The royal hotel has history dating back 138 years and really needs websites fixed and running. Situated on clacton seafront in prime position central to clacton town, the Royal Hotel webs are currently not used, as the Hotel cannot take guests until the funding is gained to complete works. Likely the luxury Hotel will require new ownership and new injection of funds to complete, then the websites will need further development.

handyman clacton, colchester essex

June 5, 2010

Haven’t made any notes on this blog for some time. New Handyman website is running, covering Colchester to Ipswich areas, but as far as Witham and even Chelmsford. Many areas of Essex served for; gardening landscape gardener, fencing fencer fence erector, decking timber flooring layer, wood carpentry carpenter, plumbing appliances plumber, electrical electrics electrician, tiling tiles wall floor tile tiler, interior exterior painting painter, decorating decor decorator, kitchen bedroom fitting fitter, light building general builder, shelving shelves fix fittings, flat pack assembly, diy help, carpet rugs cleaning cleaner http://www.excelhandyman.co.uk

Best to have more than one handyman website, so far: http://www.handyman-essex.co.uk and handyman clacton website: http://www.handymanclacton.co.uk

The next thing to fix is the carpet cleaning service in clacton and colchester areas of essex. Currently using the same excel carpet cleaner website, but the problem here is that www.excelcarpetcleaningltd.co.uk cover all of essex including clacton and colchester areas. Excel cleaning are a handyman service that provide carpet cleaning as they have the experience and professional machinery. Excel Handyman (carpet cleaner service) and Excel Carpet Cleaning Ltd are NOT the same company. Most url’s are also seem taken for the carpet cleaner essex domain. This extension is difficult, but needs addressing so as to solve the carpet & upholstery cleaning expansion.

Walton on the naze; clacton on sea

January 13, 2009

Web design in Walton on the naze Essex, is now able to offer moving graphics and simple moving gifs for websites, at a cheap price. For example, supply a few photos and they can be added together to create small website gifs, maybe used for advertising. Another reason to add to your website would be to ‘brighten’ or give your site an improved look with moving graphics designs.
For larger adverts or larger moving pictures you still require ‘flash’ and not a simple gif. But this is about cutting costs and reduced price. Its worth a look at the web design website to see the value and cheap price of personalised designer gifs.

More advice on website creation and all digital discussion can be found on the forum- digitalworldz.co.uk

The Naze. Walton on the naze, Essex

Walton: Naze rescue gets a boost

A CAMPAIGN to save Walton’s crumbling cliffs and the historic Naze Tower has been given a boost.

Tendring Council’s cabinet has given its backing to the Naze Protection Society’s Crag Walk project – an £800,000 scheme to protect the special environmental heritage site.

Plans include protecting a section of the cliff at Walton and the listed 18th century navigational tower.

The scheme aims to create an educational public access and viewing platform along the beach in front of the scientifically-important red crag cliffs, which incorporate 55-million-year-old fossils.

Harry Shearing, portfolio holder for technical services at Tendring Council, said the council wanted to work with the Naze Protection Society and the Essex Wildlife Trust to develop the scheme.

The council and the society will share the cost of a £25,000 project appraisal report before seeking lottery funding.

web design essex

December 19, 2008

There is a new web index webpage that has been published on waltonwebs.co.uk website. This is to support and promote local business services and local information websites. Found here- http://www.waltonwebs.co.uk/waltonfrinton/

I think this is a nice idea. The official local website – walton-on-the-naze.com is run by the local voluntary community project. Unfortunately this official site has to pay for website maintenance and updates and doesnt have anyone inhouse that is able to keep the site updated. Therefore, as you will notice, its outdated and very little recent information gets added. Reports are that several businesses have tried to add listings to the official local website index, but no response is received from the webmaster or web company that maintains the site. I guess its not in their interest to spend time adding listings ‘free’ as the official website states, and would like. :-(

My contact with the webdesign company was ignored, whilst I feel i dont want to pester a voluntary service to try and forcefully get a local business advertised. The walton-on-the-naze.com web developers arent local and arent inhouse or a free service, so I cant expect any more than to be ignored, can I?

My own website for local business is Satellite TV repair and Laptop PC and digital repairs so I have decided a local web design business like Waltonwebs is the ‘Walton-on-the-naze’ website to support. You get listed for free, they are local too so I feel good that i support local industry, they keep their webpages updated, they want local recommendations so have a reason to support local business and keep an index free etc. So they may not be the official local services website but its a website I have more faith in, even though its new and needs to expand more.

December 17, 2008

Took some time today to look at some blog names. Its a shame that names such as waltononthenaze.wordpress or clactononsea.wordpress or just walton or clacton etc are already taken and registered, yet nobody writes on them. Its a shame and a waste, perhaps if thy are unused then the names should be added back into the pool for others to use.

Well i’m happy with this blog name for now and just need to say thanks to Waltonwebs for passing on the idea. Waltonwebs offers great value price on website and webpage design and to recommend free places too shows real honest decency so i’d recommend to anyone looking for cheapest professional web design – http://www.waltonwebs.co.uk Take a look at the price but see that the designs arent cheap or basic looking!

Good luck from me
